YAESU PA: THE UNDERGROUND GATHERING
Yaesu Parking Area occupies a unique position in Tokyo's car culture. Located underground near Tokyo Station, it offers something other PAs can't—the feeling of meeting in a hidden bunker beneath the busiest train station in Japan. Above, millions transit daily. Below, enthusiasts gather.
The industrial underground atmosphere is distinctive. Concrete pillars, fluorescent lighting, the echo of engines—Yaesu feels like a scene from a cyberpunk film. It's not the prettiest location, but that's part of its charm. Raw, authentic, unpolished Tokyo.
Access to Yaesu requires navigating the Shuto Expressway's complex interchange system. The journey itself is part of the experience—threading through elevated highways, diving underground, emerging into the PA. For drivers unfamiliar with Tokyo's expressway network, it's an adventure. GPS helps, but nothing replaces learning the routes.
The PA serves as a convenient meeting point for groups heading out on Wangan runs. Its central location makes it easy to gather before heading to the bayshore routes or the C1 inner loop. Rally here, then roll out together. The expressway network becomes your playground.
THE SHUTO EXPERIENCE
Yaesu PA represents one node in Tokyo's incredible expressway network. The Shuto Expressway system totals over 300 kilometers, with multiple loops, radial routes, and the iconic bayshore Wangan sections. Understanding the system takes time, but Yaesu is a good starting point.
From here, you can access virtually any part of Tokyo's expressway system. Head to C1 for the inner loop, connect to Wangan for the bay runs, or venture out toward the suburbs. Yaesu sits at the crossroads of Tokyo's automotive arteries.
